WEDDING: Kemp-Kelly, Windermere Country Club, 1/9/10

I've known Liz Kemp for about 5 years ... she is a part time cake assistant (helping me with deliveries) and a full time friend. When she walked through my door with Tim Kelly, I knew she had met the man of her life.

Liz, like so many of my brides, had a definite design idea for her cake ... and this idea was a first for me. Airbrushing a stencil design onto a cake. It was definately a two-person task, but the results were pretty darn good. Add hot pink peony's and black feathers and you've got a stunning cake.

I'm definately going to get into this (airbrushing) more .... it's very different. The stencil designs can be expensive, but worth it, and you can tailor it to any color scheme.

We kept Tim in the dark for a long time about the design of his groom cake. It wasn't until I arrived and set the cake up, he saw it for the first time. He's a major Notre Dame fan (Go Irish) so the Fighting Leprechaun was very appropriate.

Clay and I were guests at this wedding, and it was a pleasure to see the joining of these two very special people. We wish you many years of love and happiness. Thank you for allowing us to play such an important role on your special day.

love the fighting irish cake, looks like a low of work but there's a huge contingency of notre dame grads around chicago that would love it.
