Sherwood-Kerich, Chateau Elan, 6/28/8

I loved working with this bride ... she contacted me from California and her mom came for the cake tasting. We had many email conversations and I eventually got to meet Kea on one of her last trips to Atlanta before the wedding.

The wedding of Kea Sherwood and Bob Kerich was held at Chateau Elan. They were married out on the front lawn with their reception held in the Elan Ballroom (if I remember correctly).

Owen-Burkette, Hampton Golf Village, 6/21/8

Danielle Owen and Andrew Burkette married right on the golf course at Hampton Golf Village (off GA 400). It was a "warm" day, so I was glad the reception was held inside the Club House. Danielle's mom came to the tasting appointment ... she wanted three separate cakes: a wedding cake ... a groom cake ... and a brides cake. This is the first time I had ever been asked for a "brides" cake. Their wedding cake was a pretty square/round cake .... the groom cake was vanilla filled and frosted in fudge with the Georgia "G" logo .... the brides cake was chocolate filled and frosted in lavender colored buttercream. Three different designs for three different cakes.

Daluga-Guenther, Houston Mill House, 6/14/8

Before heading downtown, we stopped at Krispy Kreme to pick up the ingredients for Eric's groom cake ..... 7 dozen hot glazed donuts (yummy). We were in the middle of a drought and mother nature chose this day to open up the skies. I parked the car as close to the front door of the store as I could ... but still got soaked to the bone. Once we got downtown, you'd never know it was raining NE of Atlanta. So we looked like drowned rats while setting up the cakes.

Nichole Daluga and Eric Guenther married out in the garden of the Houston Mill House. Nichole chose "The Mayan" for her cake design.

When I went online to order pro shots .... I did a double take at the groom cake photo ... and started laughing. When I left the reception site, all donuts were set up and "accounted for", but by the time Ray and Erica (35 Atlanta) took the groom cake photo .. the whole back of the top layer was without donuts !!!!

Chapman-Ledet, Callanwolde Fine Arts Ctr, 6/14/8

Our second delivery of the day ..... and still soaked from the rain storm earlier ... we delivered this beauty which I now refer to as "All Dressed Up" to Collanwalde Fine Arts Center for the wedding and reception of Kim Chapman and Judd Ledet. I'll have to go back into my old files to see who they had for their entertainment .. but it was a live band .. and while setting up the cake I was dancing and singing along with them !!! They were terrific.

The cake has a unique triple ribbon fold detail .. I just love it !!!

Argentina-Argentina, Mansell House, 6/8/8

Katie was already married but wanted a party for friends and family who could not attend the ceremony. This was my first time at Mansell House in Alpharetta.

Ashley Buker and Joe Pepitone .......... what a great couple. Ashley's a doll and from what I understand is venturing out into the cupcake making business ... good for her! When we originally met, we decided on a specific design for her cake. As I tell all my brides, once you sign with me, the cake is not set in concrete until 30 days before the wedding. So as you continue to browse thru wedding magazines, if you see a design that you like more .. let me know. Well, Ashley took that to heart and found a design she loved more. When Ashley saw her cake she said it reminded her of her grandmother's doiley.
